Cook House is an award winning restaurant who were also added to the 2021 Michelin Guide. Located in the Ouseburn, run by ‘The Grazer’ Anna Hedworth. This is such an exciting restaurant to work with because their menu changes up almost daily. Our guests get to sample something different each time we visit!
La Casa in The Grainger Market
Owned by Olga Fernandez and Angel Romero who moved to Newcastle from La Mancha region in 2012, La Casa is a Spanish delicatessen offering Spanish food and drinks in the heart of Newcastle. They work with specialist suppliers ensuring their food is authentic and absolutely delicious!

Lindsay Brothers in The Grainger Market
Founded in 1936 by Fred Lindsay and his brothers, Lindsay Bros has been a staple for nearly 90 years, supplying fresh seafood from North Shields Fish Quay and beyond. The shop has won numerous awards, including local accolades for their sustainable fishing practices and premium selection of shellfish, cod, and haddock.
Ernest, Ouseburn
This super cool bar and café up from the Ouseburn Valley not only has a delicious menu, but you'll find their deli and shop Ernie tucked underneath, offering you local products, organic and sustainable food, drink and gifts.
The French Quarter, Newcastle
Founders Cédric & Catherine Boc-Ho opened The French Quarter in 2017 with the aim to take the fuss out of French dining, offering a tapas style approach, allowing guests to explore fantastic French flavours in a relaxed atmosphere.
Blackfriars Restaurant stands within a 13th Century former medieval friary. The restaurant is also home to the oldest dinning room in the UK! Steeped in fascinating history, renowned for its warm welcome and not to mention voted Taste Of England by the North East Tourism Awards, it’s not hard to see why this restaurant is one of our favourites on the tour.
Dobson and Parnell, Newcastle
Opened in 2016
by Andy Hook and Chef Patron Troy Terrington, Dobson and Parnell pays tribute to two of the city’s Victorian architectural icons, John Dobson and William Parnell, who designed the original building in 1863. Now a Grade II listed building, guests can expect to enjoy exquisite food with thoughtful pairings in an inviting setting.
Salparo, Newcastle
Meaning 'sail away,' Salparo encourages guests to leave behind the stresses of the day, relax and embark on a discovery of flavours of the Greece. Since opening its doors in 2023, Salparo has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike with dishes such as dolmadakia, gigades plake and prawn saganaki. Owner Aldo Hasani and his team delight guests with their Greek charm whilst head chef Isaak Tsopouridis leads a talented team in the kitchen.
Snackwallah in The Grainger Market
Owned by husband and wife duo, Rachel and Ravi, this vegan Indian street food stall opened in the Grainger Market in 2018 and has been attracting crowds ever since. Snackwallah has become a key destination for vegetarians and vegans in Newcastle, winning praise for its affordable, healthy, and flavour-packed dishes that cater to a growing demand for plant-based cuisine. Their pani puri is a must try!
Set within a 13th century riverside building tucked away on the main thoroughfare up to the cathedral, Cellar Door offers guests a unique dining experience. Expect modern European cuisine made with local and seasonal ingredients. There menu is ever-changing and always absolutely delicious.
If you love Japanese cuisine, then Miso will have just the thing for you! This former music practice room is now owned by Paul Stewart, an ex-DJ turned chef who has been inspired by his trips to the far east. Miso started life as a food truck and was so successful that it now has a permanent home in Ouseburn. A very fitting setting for such a hipster establishment!
